What You Should Expect From Your Photographer

I can't speak for all photographers out there but I believe there are a few things you should expect from your photographer, no matter who they are and what their client experience is. There are certain things that should just be standard across the board and if the photographer you are considering does not do them, I would recommend looking for another photographer.

Your Photographer Should Communicate Well. If they don't respond to you in a timely manner, that tells me that they don't have good time management skills. Especially when you send the original inquiry, they should be responding back quickly. Unless they specify their response time differently, I'd say they should be getting back to you within two business days.

Your Photographer Should Be A Helpful Guide. You are hiring them for their expertise. They should be educating you and answering your questions about locations, clothing choices, and anything else you might want to know!

Your Photographer Should Be There For You From Start To Finish. It's our job to guide you through the whole process. Our commitment to you does not end when we send the gallery. Yes, the main part of the experience is over, but I believe that once you are a client, you are always a client. If you need access to your gallery again, your photographer should be able to provide that. If you want to order prints a few months later, they should be able to help you.

Your Photographer Should Be Friendly. This seems like a no-brainer but people are different. Some photographers run their businesses more as a transaction and other run it on a relationship-based model. If you find yourself clicking with someone, that is a very good sign and if you don't connect with them, then they probably aren't the one for you. There are so many photographers out there and there are only so many styles of photos so you really are picking based on the person. Find someone who you connect with and that will go a long way towards having a great experience.
