There is something so special about photographing a newborn in the family's home. While it doesn't work for some people - and that's okay - I love it because I think it helps the whole family feel relaxed, especially if the older siblings are still young children themselves. But it's also a big deal to invite a photographer into your home soon after having a new baby so I don't take that honor lightly! I love getting to work with repeat clients and seeing how excited the older children are! The oldest child met me at the door with a photo she had drawn for me :) It's the sweetest thing in the world! There were a couple of speed-bumps in getting this session done but we made it happen and it went so well. People sometimes get concerned when they see that newborn sessions are two hours but I always say that newborns need lots of wiggle time. Henry certainly did.
Little man was awake for his entire session and fell asleep right as I was packing up to leave. (Of course I had to grab a few quick sleeping shots). He is also a hungry guy so we took frequent snack breaks and used up the whole two hours! Big sisters did such a good job, both in the photos and entertaining themselves when they weren't in the photos. Even dad behaved himself (mostly ;) Welcome to the world, Henry! You are so loved!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
