Hats are super cute but can you use them in your senior portraits? The answer is YES!! And guess what? Girls AND guys can rock hats! Let's talk about a few ways to incorporate hats into your senior session. Girls, your options are almost endless when it comes to using a hat. One thing we want to keep in mind is to make sure the hat is not too big and covers your face. We just want it to add to your outfit, not become the center of attention. With just putting it on your head and holding it in your hands, we can do a LOT of different poses. Here are just a few examples I took when I was playing around with my app on my phone. Guys, I'm sorry that I don't have any example photos for you BUT, you also have some great options when it comes to hats. We probably want to avoid baseball hats for the most part (unless we are doing a uniform), since they shade so much of your head. We are looking for hats that have a small brim and look classy. I found this article very interesting and learned some new things about guys hats! A hat would be a perfect accessory for dressing up a casual outfit or adding flare to a semi-formal outfit.
Hats add flare to outfits and are an accessory that we can use with our hands. We are always looking for natural ways to pose our hands and hats are the PERFECT accessory for achieving that goal! Not a hat person? Don't worry! This is just a suggestion and we want these photos to accurately reflect you so if you don't wear hats, I would not recommend going out and buying a hat. But if you do, even just on occasion, it really is a nice piece to add to your senior session. Would you use a hat in your senior portraits?
