Getting to serve the same family through the years is a portrait photographer's DREAM! Forming relationships, seeing kids grow, celebrating over and over again with them... it's the best thing! While I have "core poses" that I use over and over again, I don't try and recreate poses for siblings. Each person is unique and their session should not be based on what an older sibling did or did not do. So I was super surprised when I was editing Natalie's session to realize how much we did that was similar to her sister Nicole's session! I didn't think of this when I was taking the photos, but there were several poses that I did with Natalie that I also did over three years ago with Nicole! A lot has changed with my style as I've learned more in that time, but apparently my favorite poses remain the same :) I did "power poses" with both girls, and as you can see, seated poses are also a favorite, but I really was amazed that we did a seated pose at a bistro table with a black iron fence behind them for both girls! And it's not like we used the same location either.
Apparently they have similar enough styles that they both liked this idea and they clearly rocked the pose!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
