Things You Could Use In Your Senior Portraits

What should you incorporate into your senior portraits? Well, that depends on you! Today I'm offering you a BUNCH of ideas to jump-start your creativity. This list is not exhaustive but simply is meant to get you thinking. I'm also always available to talk through ideas with my seniors! Let's get the ideas flowing!

Locations

• Music or theater stage - singers, actors, dancers
• Sports facility - baseball diamond, football field, track, hockey rink, basketball/volleyball court...
• Dance or art studio - dancers and artists of all kinds
• A favorite hang-out spot - a special place that holds a lot of memories from your high school years
• Your workplace - might require special permission but would be totally worth it!
  
• Your hometown or a favorite city
  

Equipment

• Musical instruments
• Art supplies - pencils, notebooks, paints, easel...
• Sports uniforms/gear - we could pair these with your location and/or photograph them in a different place
• Books - for the readers out there :)
• Items you collect - this could be anything! I knew a girl who collected records and brought a bunch with her to her senior session.
• Pieces that showcase your hobbies - do you bake? tinker? fix things? hike? are you a movie buff? what do you do in your spare time?
• Tools - from kitchen to garage, what tools do you use regularly in your hobbies and interests?
  
• A cool car or other large item
• Bicycle

Think Outside The Box

What do you have access to? Do you have connections to an item or location that is unique to you? Really, when it comes to your senior portraits, the sky is the limit! (I'm being literal here... if you want to do something like sky diving, I'm not the photographer for you :)

You will love your posed, formal portraits but we want to capture so much more with your senior portraits. We want to capture your interests and passions at this time in your life.

I hope this helped you start thinking about how to make your photo session personalized to you! I don't want you to feel limited to what you've seen others do.
