Overall, this was a GREAT month! The two downsides (allergies and heat) were not enough to overshadow all the fun things that happened this June. It has been a wonderful start to the summer and just what I needed.
Life Update My allergies were BAD this month! So while I did start my "date with myself", it was a thrift store trip and a brief stop at the park to see if the mulberries were ripe yet (they weren't). Then I spent a Friday with my nieces and nephews at the Blue Heron Splash Bay splash pad. It's a really cool place; one of the nicest splash pads I've ever been to. All that to say, I get 3/4ths of a point for that goal :) I did get to spend great quality time with my nieces and nephews!!!! One day we went to the park, got ice cream, and checked out the incredible children's section at the Redford Township District Library. It's incredible and would be a great place for super hot or rainy days. Then they came to spend the weekend (with their mom) at our house and that was fun too! VBS was great! Even though it was hotter than hot, we still had fun and I loved seeing my little friends every day! I got to see the Botanical Gardens AND paired it with some one-on-one time with a friend! We have been trying to get together for over a month and it finally happened! The flowers and plants were gorgeous, although it was hard to spend time in the Conservatory because it was so hot! There is a couple in my Bible study getting married next month and we threw them a surprise shower. It was so lovely and they were so surprised and thankful. Just a really nice time for everyone. On the farm, we got pigs and I haven't killed the plants on the deck yet! If you're keeping track at home, we are up to ~ 36 chickens, two dogs, two cats, three cows, and now six pigs. The tomato plants have tiny green tomatoes on them so they are alive! Jury is out on the cucumbers, as their stalks look strange to me, but they are still green so maybe we're okay there. Business Update Maybe you've noticed this but I kind of accidentally got a new web address. Funny story - I wanted to transfer my domain that I bought a few years ago from WordPress to Weebly. I was just going to move the ownership but I guess somehow I attached it to my site and then, since I couldn't use it without upgrading my site, I ended up getting a new web address. Which works out well because I was really worried about upgrading and what it might do to all my pins on Pinterest so doing it by accident worked out well!
I had a WONDERFUL family session this month with a lady who found my in a web search. Seriously, her family was so much fun! And editing has been going well. No swamping yet! Unfortunately, not much in the way of scouting other than incidentally because of my allergies and the weather. Also unfortunate is that I thought I had a handle on a new newsletter option but it's proving to be a lot more complicated than I want. The new anti-spam rules are so complicated and make this process so much harder for us normal people. Isn't that how things usually go? How was your June? What was good, what was hard, and what was a surprise? Are you satisfied with how the month went?
