The D Family // Greenmead Historic Village

We had one shot at this. With work and school and more than half a dozen schedules to work out, it was this or nothing. I'd been praying for good weather since we set the date and woke up to the biggest thunderstorm I'd heard in a long time.

Praise the Lord, the rain stopped in plenty of time, the ground was not a muddy mess, and we had pretty nice weather, all things considered!

This family is so much fun to work with and be around. They are joyful and relaxed and have great senses of humor. Having them all together seems to make them smile and laugh. Not only is it great fun to be around them, it is a great honor to be able to do something for them that blesses them.

The father has been the senior pastor at my church for almost half my life. I don't know if you know much about pastors' families, but they give and sacrifice so much to serve the body of Christ. Whether that's losing evenings with their father/husband, moving to a new place to take a call at a new church, or any other number of things, it's not just the pastor himself who serves the church. His family feels the call and weight of ministry just as much.

I have been blessed immeasurably by this family and it is simply an honor to be able to bless them back with photos of their family to treasure. It's a changing family, as kids are growing up, moving away, getting married, and now there are grandbabies!!! But this freezes this moment in time for them; their family as they are today, in 2020. This is the blessing and beauty of photographs. 

If you weren't there, you can't know the laughs that were shared but you can see the bond of this beautiful family in their smiles.
