February! This February is quite the month. It's the last month for National Days, as I started that in March of last year! So March 2021-February 2022 is where you can look for all the fun National Day posts. It's going to be weird not researching those anymore. But February is chock full for the shortest month of the year! I'm back on Instagram - sort of. I am releasing myself of the expectation of showing up every day because it's becoming a millstone rather than a space to build community and be creative. I have too many days when I'm stressing to go on an app and that's not what I want for my life. So I am back, but you may not see me every single day :)
Why do I have less time? Well, it's crunch time for renovations at our new house. We will be spending SCADS of time renovating the house and starting the process of moving boxes over, on top of continuing to pack. I've stripped my schedule down to the bare bones and I only am taking one session this month. Newborn sessions have to happen when they happen! That's really my life for the month. A new way of doing Instagram, all things moving related, and a newborn session. And, of course, this month is my birthday. It's going to be low-key this year, but I will try to find a way to celebrate. I don't do anything anymore for Valentine's Day, but do you have any plans? Have a great February!! (See the complete list here). February 1st - National Dark Chocolate Day. Oh. YUM! Dark chocolate is the best chocolate. I don't do much over 70%, maybe 75%, but after that, you may as well just eat cocoa powder. Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are my absolute favorite! February 2nd - National Tater Tot Day. Popular with kindergartners but people of all ages can enjoy tater tots. I know I do :) February 3rd - National Missing Persons Day. This is a serious day but not every day can be fun. We aren't celebrating as much as bringing awareness and taking time to realize that so many people are not with their family and friends. February 4th - National Thank A Mail Carrier Day. They bring me letters from friends and things that I buy. I would hate to live in a world without them! February 5th - World Nutella Day. The world is better for this delicious spread! Imagine a dark chocolate nutella?! February 6th - National Chopsticks Day. Also known as "crash diet day" for me because I cannot eat with chopsticks :) February 7th - National Send A Card To A Friend Day. Remember those mail carriers? Let them take a card to your friend! Trust me, your friend will LOVE the surprise in their mailbox. February 8th - National Kite Flying Day. This might be challenging in some parts of the country, since it's winter time, but anytime is good for flying a kite in my book! February 9th - National Pizza Day. My favorite pizza is MOD Pizza because I can make it just like I want, but I also love Little Caesar's, Jets, Dominoes... pretty much anything, as long as it's pepperoni. February 10th - National Cream Cheese Brownie Day. I've never had these and honestly I don't know what I think about it. Have you had them? Are they good? February 11th - National Make A Friend Day. This year, making new friends is a goal of mine. I'm looking for community. Probably won't happen in February, but it's good to know we have a day dedicated to making friends. February 12th - Global Movie Day. What was the last movie you saw in theaters? I think mine was Courageous, 10th Anniversary Edition. Is there anything coming out that you want to see? Of course, Global Movie Day can be celebrated with oldies too. February 13th - Galentine's Day. Grab your girlfriends and have a day out!!! Celebrate the girls who are always there for you. February 14th - Valentine's Day. This day does not have to be sad, even in you don't have a significant other. Celebrate the ones you love and who love you! I'm sending Valentines to the girls in my discipleship group. February 15th - National Gumdrop Day. Okay, I am at a loss for this one other than to eat some gumdrops. Not every day is a winner. February 16th - National Almond Day. I use almonds in the forms of almond extract, almond flour, and almond butter. Did you know that they can squeak in your mouth when you eat them sometimes? February 17th - National Random Acts Of Kindness Day. Again, any day is great to do this, but having one day dedicated to it ensures we pay attention and actually do it at least once. February 18th - National Battery Day. In today's day and age, batteries are a staple of life. I'm listening to music on my phone (battery powered) and typing on my laptop (which has a battery powered option). You could spend today learning about how we got this necessary technology. February 19th - National Arabian Horse Day. Arabians are elegant horses. There is still a little bit of the childhood horse girl inside of me. Their history is very interesting. February 20th - National Comfy Day. I love days in my comfy clothes. You can combine this with National Muffin Day (also today) because muffins are definitely comfy. February 21st- National Sticky Bun Day. Sugary breakfast foods? Yes please! February 22nd - World Spa Day. Whether at home or at an actual spa, treat yourself today! February 23rd - National Banana Bread Day. One of the few ways I eat bananas. My aunt made the best that I've ever had! Oh, with or without nuts? February 24th - National Tortilla Chip Day. These are a staple in our house. We like chips and salsa, as well as nachos. Sometimes we just munch the salty goodness. February 25th - National Chocolate Covered Nut Day. I would eat chocolate covered cashews or peanuts but those don't seem to be common. Chocolate covered almonds is by far the most popular choice that I see. February 26th- National Set A Good Example Day. We should strive to be good examples everyday, obviously, but we're human and fail. Today, we can try extra hard. February 27th - National Strawberry Day. One of my favorite berries! They are expensive this time of year, but that makes any time I get them all the more special! February 28th - National Floral Design Day. My friends grandmother was a floral arranger and designer. She taught us how to make a wreath once. I still have it. (Fake flowers, in this case).
