The A Family

We took advantage of this highly unusual weather we've been having to do one last outdoor session and it was GORGEOUS!!! Evening sessions are always my favorite but evenings in the fall... it's unlike any other time of year.

The little guy was unsure of me at the beginning and by the end was bringing me leaves and running all around!! I think I made a new friend, which is always the goal!!

I've met this family briefly before when their son was just an infant. We go to the same church but generally different services which means we never see each other :) Dorian was in a mom's group last year that my mom facilitated but it has been a while since I'd talked to her and I certainly hadn't seen little A in a long time!!!

When I'm doing a session, I chat with my clients and it's so fun to find the little nuggets of  connection. Adam works for one of the major car companies and so does my dad. We chatted about ice skating and how their first "real" date was at Campus Martius. I still want to go there but I have to learn how to ice skate again first :) They are such a sweet couple and their little boy is SO CUTE!!!

He was not too sure about the whole picture thing, so we did what I love to do with kids and let him play and run!!! It means a lot more pictures to go through but it's always worth it when I get amazing, real smiles!! He had the best time running all around and basically playing keep away. Their backyard is sloped a bit and when he'd fall down, he thought it was the funniest thing!

It is always an honor to be invited into a family's life but this year I am even more aware of the privilege that I have. Dorian works in healthcare and they aren't really going anywhere but they invited me to come and capture their family at their home. Adam & Dorian, thank you for trusting me. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you! I hope you treasure these images for years to come.
