Start The New Year Right

Welcome to 2022!!! It doesn't really feel like it should be a new year to me. It didn't feel like Christmas either. I don't really know why but whether it feels like it or not, here we are in a brand new year!

I know we are a couple of days into January already and I hope that the month is going well so far! What did you do for New Year's? Ours was fairly chill, partially by choice. I hope you are excited for the coming blog posts because January is when I do some of my favorite posts of the entire year!
Since I am moving this year, in just two months (!), I am not setting a lot of goals or plans for myself. However, we are doing taxes this month (fun), and I while I am on my social media break, I am going to be doing planning and formulating to hopefully breath some life back into my Instagram account.

Do you have any big plans or objectives for January? If not, I have some things for you to do! You can see the full list HERE.

January 1st - New Year's Day. The obvious one. This is a day for doing a whole lot of nothing since we all were up so late last night.
January 2nd - National Science Fiction Day. I don't read a lot of this genre, or at least, if I do, I don't know it is actually sci-fi. What is your favorite sci-fi book/series?
January 3rd - National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day. This could be a good NYE treat and then you can eat more today!
January 4th - National Trivia Day. I just played Trivial Pursuit for the first time on Christmas and learned that I'm not super good at trivia, but I still think it is fun. I used to play Trivia Crack a lot!
January 5th - National Bird Day. Is this a day to nationally learn about birds or to learn about the eagle, our national bird? Either works.
January 6th - National Technology Day. It does some great things for us.
January 7th - National Bobblehead Day. I once went to a baseball game solely to get the bobblehead that was being given away :) I have two, both of the same player, but one is with the Tigers jersey and one is with our Triple A team jersey.
January 8th - National Bubble Bath Day. Let's just call this a relaxation day. I personally would go for a nice scented bath myself.
January 9th - National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. We no longer have to imagine what life would be like without them and that should make us all the more appreciative.
January 10th - National Clean Off Your Desk Day. I got rid of my desk because all it did was collect stuff! If you have one, here is your sign that you should clean it off!
January 11th - National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. So, so, so important. This is a blight on the world and on humanity. It's modern day slavery. Educate yourself. Learn. Join the fight. The A21 Campaign and Shared Hope are great places to start.
January 12th - National Marzipan Day. I honestly cannot say if I've ever had this sweet treat. It would be fun to try something new!
January 13th - National Sticker Day. Stickers are so fun and a creative way to express yourself! I am collecting stickers where I find them (they are one of my favorite souvenirs) but I don't know where to put them yet!
January 14th - National Dress Up Your Pet Day. If your pet likes it, of course.
January 15th - National Hat Day. Pick a hat and wear it proudly! Too bad we can't all borrow a hat from the little boy in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.
January 16th - National Religious Freedom Day. Another extremely important day because we are losing our religious freedom faster than one would believe possible.
January 17th - Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Let's return to his ideas. Learn who he was, what fueled him, and what he believed. He would be heartbroken to see where we are today.
January 18th - National Michigan Day. The best state ever!!! I may be slightly biased but I love my state. As bad as things are, and I'm thankful they are not as bad as some states, I would hate to leave. But for all of you who are not as enamored with Michigan, it is also National Winnie The Pooh Day.
January 19th - National Popcorn Day. This is one of my favorite snacks! I made it in our air popper and then add avocado oil and salt. YUM! How do you make popcorn?
January 20th - National Cheese Lover's Day. I'm a big fan of cheese but not really a cheese connoisseur. I love provolone and muenster and colby jack and mozzerella but I'm not really too picky. I also like velveeta and nacho cheese, which aren't even real cheese :)
January 21st - National Hugging Day. Everyone can be Olaf and give "warm hugs".
January 22nd - National Sanctity of Life Day. This right here is why human trafficking is such a big deal. All life is sacred because we are made in the image of God. It's why abortion is wrong and so many are working to end it. All lives matter to us because they all matter to God.
January 23rd - National Pie Day. I'm making Goldberry Pie to celebrate!!! It's my favorite pie.
January 24th - National Compliment Day. Say something nice to someone. Maybe compliment everyone you see that day. You don't know how it might change their day.
January 25th - National Opposite Day. I don't know how to celebrate this without causing chaos, so I'd love to hear what you would do.
January 27th - National Spouses Day. If you can, go on a date today and build up your marriage. Strong marriages are the foundation of strong families.
January 28th - National Chocolate Cake Day. My favorite chocolate cake is Kahlua cake (sans Kahlua). What makes it so moist is the pudding.
January 29th - National Have Fun At Work Day. I hope you have fun everyday but I know that's not the case for many people, so today, try to do something so that you can have fun.
January 30th - National Puzzle Day. Crossword puzzles, cardboard puzzles, Sudoku puzzles... any kind of puzzle counts!
January 31st - National Hot Chocolate Day. My favorite warm beverage. Do you add milk or water? Any extras like marshmallows or peppermint, or just as it is?
