Social Media Break Challenge

This year I took all of January off of social media (which for me means Instagram) and it was the best!!!! I did miss a few of my friends' accounts, especially the one who was renovating an old house, but overall, it was so refreshing and I kind of didn't want to go back :) Just being honest. I am planning to do the same thing in 2022 and want to challenge you to do it with me!

You're probably wondering if you can really do it. Maybe you have a business and conduct a lot of your business through social media. The nice thing about this challenge is that it is customizable!!! You can choose to go completely off or maybe you only cut one platform out. You could even just go to a few times a week, to maintain your presence but also reap the benefits of less social media.

I'm a business owner. I get wondering how dropping off the face of the Internet might affect your business. But consider a few things as you think about doing a SM break:

• Can my business afford it if I don't do this? I don't know about you, but I can get stuck in ruts when it comes to content creation. I felt refreshed and had so many ideas when I came back from my break this year.
  
• Am I addicted to SM? Nothing lets you know better if you're addicted than breaks. I take a break every weekend, in addition to my month off, and I may take some mid-breaks during the year in the future. This keeps me not addicted.
  
• What might my life look like without SM? When you don't feel the need to show up online, you are more free to show up in real life. And after the hustle and bustle of December, a slower pace to things sounds nice, doesn't it?
  

Like I said, how much you cut out is up to you, but I strongly encourage you to start your year with some kind of break.
