MAYbe May will bring spring to Michigan. I'm no great lover of spring, but I live on a farm now and we kind of need to plant the gardens! One of my favorite memes says this, "Just realized why this month is called May. It may be 65 degrees. It may be 95 degrees." Yep. That's 100% accurate. Getting dressed every day is great fun :) We started off May with a bang! I had a portrait session with a large, extended family and we celebrated Confirmation Sunday at church. I'm hoping to get some more experience with Canon Connect but personal projects get waylaid frequently, so we'll see.
The big event this month is that we are hosting an open house at the farm to let people see how it is now. We hosted one after we bought it eight years ago, but a LOT has changed. We'll see how much of the barns and outbuildings we get cleaned up before then :) I think we'll actually get to planting things this month. I'm hesitantly excited to grow things except that I do not like weeding. Like, AT. ALL! Anyone who likes it is welcome to come weed our gardens anytime :) My friend is coming home from school (to stay this time!!!) and I hoping that I can spend a little time with her before her summer gets crazy. May is a super busy birthday month! My cousins will be 15 and 13 and my "nephew" will be 6!!! Guys, how is that even possible?! When I found out we were officially moving, I decided that I needed a project of my own. I have not done a nature photography project in a long time and this one is going to be done over a whole year. I haven't quite decided on the scope of the project, but it entails taking a photo of the same thing through the seasons. I'm starting with spring! What is not decided is if I am doing the same object at different times of day. I'm not sure if I want to do that or not. Let me know what you think I should do! I have two projects for this month - create a referral program for past clients and work on my senior rep team. I'm hoping that these two things will be very beneficial for my business! I'm sure that whatever I set up will be tweaked as I implement them into the real world but I'm pretty excited about them! What plans do you have for May? Anything fun and exciting? Let me know!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
