I love reading and the next best thing is sharing the books I love with others. My goal is to have a library in my home one day and I currently am collecting many books and series towards that end. My bookshelves are constantly being rearranged to find more space for more books! A homeschool mom at my church started lending me bags of books when I was probably around 10 or 11 years old. I'd read all the ones in the bag and then she'd refill it. I believe this is where I first read The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare. Regardless of when and where, it has become one of my all-time favorite books. I estimate I've read it about five or six times.
The Bronze Bow is the story of a boy named Daniel who is living in Israel during the time of the Roman occupation. It's also during the time of Jesus. Daniel hates the Romans with a passion. His story and life are one of hardship and toil and challenge. I don't want to say too much and spoil things, but it is such a good story. When I got older, I discovered that it's also a favorite of my aunt and Mrs. S. That makes it even more special, to share a love of this book with two people I love. Have you read The Bronze Bow? What did you think of it? If you do go read it, I'd love to know your thoughts on it.
