This is it! The last month of 2019! Crazy, I know. Speaking of crazy, this time of year gets really busy. When I was a kid, I had Christmas program practice, the Christmas concert practice, at least two Christmas parties to attend, and multiple Christmas gatherings around the end and beginning of the year. Oddly enough, things seemed to have calmed as I've gotten older. December is a time of traditions. We break out Christmas movies and music, decorate our homes with heirlooms and crafts children make. Every ornament on our tree has some memory or meaning associated with it.
One of my favorite traditions at Christmastime is our Muppets Advent calendar. It's a "Gift of the Magi" story with Muppet characters that my dad reads and does ALL the voices. It is quite hilarious and even though we've heard it for years, we still are amused. I love snow and can't get enough of it!!! I doesn't snow enough for me where I live. I want to move north/west when I buy my own place to get more snow :) If there is snow for Christmas, we'll be outside playing with our cousins and getting pulled around our grandparent's backyard in sleds by the four-wheeler. This month will be the month of celebration. My two groups will have more social gatherings than our usual meetings. We like to do Secret Santa gift exchanges and just enjoy each other's company. My family will do our Christmas Eve traditions and then spend Christmas Day with other family. We'll have our Advent services leading up to Christmas and do Christmas baskets for our community with our church. I'm hoping to go ice skating at the outdoor rink this winter, maybe this month. I'm sure December will fill itself up, but I can't think of too much that I have planned. I want to do a snow session for myself this winter and a past client wants to do one for her kids. Maybe that will be this month or maybe later on. I do know that our friend group will all get together when two of us are home for break and it will be fantastic! What are your fun plans for December? Do you travel or have people come to you? What are some traditions you have that you are looking forward to?

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
