Nebraska Take 2

Well, I certainly didn't have two trips to Nebraska in mind for 2020!!! When circumstances not related to a certain illness prevented my friends from coming out here this summer, my mom and I decided we would go there again. This time we tried to make it in one day.

One of the big factors in us wanting to go again was that George was born. If we didn't go now, he'd be almost a year old or more before we got to see him in person. There was pretty much one good stretch of time in October for us to go and that timing ended up being totally a God-thing.

My friend's husband was scheduled to have hernia surgery and it had been cancelled. Guess when it was rescheduled? Right when we were coming!!!! We were able to visit and help her with her four children, ages 4 to three months! It was a lot but also really good.

When we went in January it was just too cold to do much of anything outside. This time we got to play at the park, go to the zoo, take the kids to a birthday party, and go to church! Their church has no restrictions, which was amazing!!!!

The Omaha zoo is super cool! I've not been to very many zoos other than the Detroit Zoo and certainly not in a long time! They have elephants and rhinos, which we don't have anymore, and their red panda was super active while we were there!!! I was SO excited!

Our travels were great. We only stopped twice, had beautiful weather, and no traffic. If we had bad weather or traffic it would have been much harder but now we know we can do the drive in one day.

We made great memories, laughed a lot, and had a wonderful time. I'm so glad we got to go and spend the time with them!
