I have a new creative project. It started last fall when I was at a friend's house and I saw the crayon under the table and the toy car under the cabinet. I thought, "these are the little pieces of this season of her life that she probably doesn't even notice, but one day she might miss." And then I thought, "what if I started trying to see all those little things? What might I find?" Now we have what I am calling "Moments In Time". There really isn't anything fancy about this. There are no rules for what I'm looking for. It's mainly to get me paying attention to the little things in life. The things that are so ordinary. Can I look at life like a child again? Or like a stranger just seeing my world for the first time?
I may take some photos with my "big camera" sometimes, but most of them will be iPhone images. The goal is not perfection or a "perfect shot" but instead grabbing what is in the moment. Right now, I don't have a lot. I think this is going to be a muscle or habit that I have to develop but part of the fun is in the learning and trying. And a lot of the time I know I won't take a photo but as long as I'm noticing, I'm happy with that because that is the goal. I'd love it if you'd join me in this little project! Feel free to tag me in posts or Stories with your own #momentsintime. Get out there and notice the little, ordinary, mundane things. I think you'll be very surprised!

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
