I'm not a poet and I'm not the best at deep words but days like Mother's Day make me want to try. So here is what I want to say to all the mothers. The mothers who are in the trenches of baby and toddler-hood. The mothers who are watching teens and young adults wander. The mothers who are watching their daughters be mothers. The godmothers and foster mothers and adoptive mothers. This is my feeble attempt to share what is on my heart for you. Mama, you are seen.
The long days and sleepless nights. The endless cycles of laundry and dishes. The tears and the frustrations. They are serving a purpose. Your kids won't remember any of that. They will remember your love and your presence. They'll remember the moments you left the dishes in the sink and the laundry on the couch and entered their world. So when the days are long and the nights are short, when you're disciplining yet again, when it seems like you can't do it anymore, remember that you are seen. Your consistency is seen. Your dedication is seen. God did not make a mistake when He gave your kids to you. You're doing a great job and your kids will appreciate it, one day. Keep going. Keep loving. Happy Mother's Day.

Hi! I'm Sarah!
I am a natural light portrait photographer. I've been taking photos since 2014 and would eat a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for lunch everyday if I could. Thank you so much for stopping by. I blog about sessions, things I'm learning, stuff in my life, and information for YOU, my client. If you like what you see around the site, I'd love to work with you! I'd also love to connect with you on Instagram. I'm @sarah_jayne_photo :) Archives
