January 2024 Review

We started the year off strong! In some ways I can't believe we are already done with one month but in other ways January flew by! It was a good month with some exciting developments with work and lots of people time.

Of course, a big highlight of the month was SNOW!! We got some of the best snowfall we've had in YEARS! I had a great two weeks with the snow and now it is gone. *sadness* Right before it melted, I got to go play in the snow with my cousin and we got her mini horse in on the fun too! (Photos below)

I did not get to see The Boys In The Boat in theaters but I'll see it eventually! We also did not get anything set up with having dinner with different friends. But that's okay! My grandparents bought a house out by us, so the next few months will be focused on helping them pack and move. They'll join us two years after we moved out here.

Something that fits into both categories is that I got some new hard drives and redid my backup system. It took all day but it's done! I also got a new adapter for my camera for the one lens that Canon won't make in the new mount.

Personal

• Frankenmuth - I learned so much and over all had a great time! The oldest girl and I had so many great conversations and my confidence grew a lot.
  
• Cousin time - I went to one cousin's basketball game and played in the snow, as I said.
  
• Finished writing out Lamentations - one of my goals this year is to write out several different books of the Bible and I've finished the first one!
  

Business

• KJ Pod - Katelyn's team put together small groups of photographers to create more community among students. My first pod didn't pan out so they combined mine with another one and it's been a lot of fun so far! We ask questions, critique each other's photos, and will be doing Zoom calls once a month.
  
• Editing leads - On this month's KJ Connection Call, I got two editing leads! It's very exciting!
  
• Rep Team planning - I got the dates finalized for the Class of 2025 Senior Rep Team.
  
• Taxes are started and I did get progress made on syncing my blog and IG posts.
  

The other big news is that I bought a plane ticket! In February, my other cousins and I are going on a trip. It's scary and exciting at the same time but I know it's going to be great.
