I Saw God's Not Dead 4 // My Thoughts

I have seen all of the God's Not Dead movies and have enjoyed them to various degrees. If you don't know about this series, they are fictional movies that are based off of real court cases. So while the exact events are all just for the film, you know that things just like it are happening in the real world and it's crazy to realize!!!
Each movie is a stand-alone film, but there are characters that are woven throughout and that brings me to the first thing I really liked about this film, which is that we got to reconnect with two characters from the first movie! It was nice to see more of their story and where they have been.

I think this is my favorite GND movie since the first one. They might be tied for best in my opinion. The theme of this movie is homeschooling. While homeschooling is legal in the United States, it is not in many other places in the world and even where legal, it is not always easy. I live in Michigan and it is one of the easiest states in the country in which to homeschool. I know people who homeschool in Tennessee and there are a few more regulations there.

I don't want to spoil the movie, but I will say that it does a great job widening the lens on homeschooling. You might have a picture in your mind of what homeschooling looks like or why some homeschools, but you might be surprised!

Another reason I love this movie is that it allows us to start talking about freedoms and government interaction in our lives in a less-volatile way. I know freedom has been a "hot-button topic" of late and it is one that is important to talk about, but some of the cases are just too touchy right now. Homeschooling is not really a controversial topic to most people, so it is easier to have a conversation about things without getting emotional and heated.

I don't know if there will be a wide theater release of God's Not Dead: We The People, but if you get the chance, I definitely recommend seeing it. You don't have to have seen the other three, but you may want to after seeing this one! There are a few things that will make more sense to you if you have seen at least the first and third ones, but it's not absolutely necessary.

If you have seen this movie, what did you think???
