I Did Something I Haven't Done In Years

I couldn't find my tennis shoes. I never wear them but they are supposed to be in a certain place and they appear to have wandered off.

I still don't know where they are and I ended up having to wear a pair of my mom's. The surprising thing about that is, we don't wear the same size, but they fit well enough and my feet didn't hurt at the end of the day. That's a miracle!

Why did I need my tennis shoes? A friend of mine has a zoo membership. She's been asking me for a while if I wanted to go with her sometime. Last week, we finally went.

I have not been to the zoo in years. It's possible that I was single digits the last time I went. I have some vague memories and some things looked familiar, but they've changed a lot.

My favorite animal is the red panda. If you don't know what that is, look it up. They are SO adorable. Our zoo got some a few years ago, and I was really looking forward to seeing them, but their habitat was under construction so no red pandas. Oh well.

A lot of other animals were out that, in my memory, usually you didn't see. We saw a brown bear, the lions, the polar bear (!!!), and the arctic foxes. Some of them were sleeping, but they were visible, so it counts. We also saw bald eagles, giraffes, seals, and my second favorite animal, the tree kangaroo. Here's a picture of it. (Thanks to my friend who spotted it up in the tree). Isn't it cute???
