Headphones & Presets // Fun New Things

I like sharing when I get new things! This time, I have a personal and a business "fun thing" to tell you about. Fair warning, the business one is kind of nerdy :)

Headphones and presets might not seem like a big deal, but there is more to it than it seems. (I have a story for everything!)

Let's start with the headphones. For many years, I've taken a pair of earmuffs, like the kind you wear when you're mowing the lawn, on trips. My mom and brothers are pretty easy-going when it comes to music but my dad and I have VERY different tastes. So when they are listening to music I don't like, I put in my earbuds and put the earmuffs over them to block out the road and music.

I used this for years but it was imperfect. The biggest issues were one more thing to remember when packing and the fact that my earbuds would move around and fall out inside the earmuffs. But I don't like spending money when I have something that is working, even if it's not the best. I finally caved and bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones and they are wonderful! They came right before our trip and I've used them at home a bit too. They have great range and while I primarily got them for trips, it's nice to be able to work without the phone in my pocket and the cord catching on every cabinet handle :)




I think I found Light & Airy Presets from and Instagram ad but I can't remember for sure. They sell presets for mobile and my presets don't work great on iPhone photos. It's kind of a bummer that I've had to get two separate presets but two different are better than one and none.

They sent me emails for a long time and occasionally would have a sale. I'd think about it but pass each time. It didn't seem like a necessary expense. Finally, they were having their 4th of July sale and I decided that I was at the point where it made sense. I usually take photos that I am going to use for Instagram with my big camera, but sometimes I have an iPhone picture that I'd like to use and can't. Not anymore!

Here's the nerdy part - I love presets!!! They are the thing I'm going to have to watch myself on because I could just buy so many! But you don't really need a bunch and the only reason to get more is if your style has changed and the ones you have don't work for you anymore. And compared to most things in the photography gear world, they are very affordable. If I ever waste money on something, it's likely to be a preset pack :)
