We just had 13 people in our house for five days. It has been insanely hot and humid for almost the same amount of time. I have not swam so much, possibly in my entire life!! .My mom's best friend from forever (they met when they were five) has six kids, so things get interesting when they come. We spent a ton of time at my grandparent's house swimming, because it was too hot for anything else!
Besides the incredible heat, our dishwasher also broke the day before all these people came and we weren't going to be able to get the one my mom wanted in time. So we just used lots of paper and plastic ware. Happy Fourth of July (late)! I didn't post anything on Wednesday because I was gone all day. A local town has a parade that we go to every year. Our friends live there and we sit in their front yard and enjoy all the music and floats and things. Sometimes we see people in the parade that we know! After the parade, my brothers and I stayed to swim with our friend for a while, then we went to my grandparent's house to meet up with everyone else and swim some more! (I was serious when I said lots of swimming). We did sparklers and had gone the night before to see an awesome fireworks display put on by some other friends. My dad went to buy sparklers, and got me Pop Its, because I had mentioned after the fireworks that I wanted to do those now. That was totally a surprise! I don't know if this is true for anyone else, but when we had our company, it seemed like I was on vacation too. Sure, we still had to do some dishes and the laundry, but my mom did a lot of the laundry when I wasn't paying attention and we just had barely anything to do. Pair that feeling with the lack of sleep I've gotten in the last week, and I just feel like doing nothing. Probably the heat has something to do with that as well :) It's much cooler today, thank you Lord!!! I'd love to know what you do for Fourth of July. What's your favorite tradition? Until next time! Blessings, Sarah
