Feature Friday: Scalp Brush

I'm going to be honest here and hope it's not TMI. I've dealt with a dry scalp for a very long time and it's frustrated me greatly because I have really oily hair. I've made some progress with my hair, but by the end of my non-washing days, my scalp would be itchy and my hair would have dandruff. It was really annoying but I didn't know how to change it.

Certain dandruff shampoos were helpful but I'd like to fix the problem rather than just treating it. I'd heard about scalp brushes and massagers but not really looked into them until recently. I just went to Google and found this post that shared pros and cons of several different kinds of scalp massagers. Most of them are super affordable so I didn't feel like I was taking a risk if it didn't help.

I've been using my brush for two months on wash days (I wash my hair every three to four days so about twice a week) and I have seen improvement! My scalp is rarely itchy by wash day and I don't see as many flakes either. Even with my shampoo, I still saw flakes by the time wash day came around.

I will say that this brush was a little uncomfortable, especially near the front of my hairline but I've gotten used to it.

If you struggle with an itchy and/or flaky scalp and you don't have a medical condition, you should try a scalp brush or massager. You might be surprised at what it does and how good it feels!
