 Perspective is an interesting thing. I've been thinking about it rather a lot lately. This post is kind of me musing; just bringing up food for thought. And food will have something to do with it.

 We live in a world of microwaves, Netflix, instant messaging, and Amazon Prime. Fast food, convenience stores, and the Internet. All these things have created an urgency in our lives. We expect things to be fast and convenient. There are a lot of good things with our modern technology and I am very grateful for them. However, I would propose that this "instant" lifestyle is not natural and makes it harder on us when we have no choice but to wait.
 This one is for my coffee-loving friends! (Or my friends who have coffee-loving friends :) Those who know me might be wondering why I'm recommending something when I don't drink it, but really, I'm recommending the owners.
*stay tuned for a fun surprise*  You know the kind of place I'm talking about. It's the restaurant you simply have to eat at each time you visit, or the park that your family has played at for years. Surely everyone has at least one place like this. It's usually the novelty. There's nothing like it at home, so when you're away, you just have to have it.
 I think every family probably has at least one. That phrase that has become a part of family tradition. There are certain instances you use it and it has a special meaning just to you.
My family quotes anything and everything that we find funny, but I can think of three particular phrases that we use and have become ingrained in family tradition. This is for all my podcast mamas! I have just started getting more into podcasts. My problem is, I can't do much while I'm listening or I tune out what I'm supposed to be hearing and learning, so I just wouldn't listen to podcasts and I'd get so far behind. It didn't help that episodes were 40 minutes to and hour for many podcasts. Not so with Heidi St. John.
I don't have toddlers, but I have heard of some really neat ideas for traveling with young kids, as well as keeping the toy disaster in check. You might have already heard of these or maybe you have your own tricks. I'm sure this will be super helpful for some of you!
 I met with the coordinator of our local homeschool graduation to offer my services to the graduates and their families. When you aren't used to school pictures every year, sometimes senior pictures can sneak up on you. I simply asked her if she would recommend me if any of the families asked her about getting their child's picture done. I gave her a few business cards and then waited to see what, if anything, might come of it.
 Everyone knows about AirBNB, but I'd be willing to bet you haven't heard of A Candle In The Window. Today, that's going to change because I'm going to tell you all about it!!!
 I learned about how important blogging was for my business pretty early on, thanks to Amy & Jordan Demos and their business course. I'd had a personal blog for several years, but it was all over the place. Now, I would be trying to focus a little more, so rather than jumping into five days a week (a la Amy&Jordan), I decided to start with three days a week. That sounded doable. At times, it certainly was, but other times, I struggled to figure out content and it was stressing me out. Things that stress you out are never good for your business. What could make this better?
