Five kids ages 5 and under. It's the craziest and sweetest thing at the same time! The timing of this visit was intentional to coincide with Naomi's birth! It's an honor and privilege to be able to help my friend out and God was in this trip for sure, as things came up that my mom and I were able to help with. And it should be mentioned that we only had three kids most days, as Oliver is old enough to be in full day school!! With a new baby, cool weather, and five little kids, we didn't really go anywhere. Plus, Oliver being in school makes things interesting. Despite not going many places, we sure do a lot! We went to the park one day, I took Oliver to the Dollar Store to get stuff for his shoebox for Operation Christmas Child, and the girls and I painted our nails! (I painted our nails :)
There were lots of baby snuggles and reading books. I got to see my friend who goes to college out there and she got to see the middle three kids! It was her first time meeting George and she hasn't seen Esther in two years. Each trip is so unique. We've only been three times and they could not be more different from each other! But each is special and I make more precious memories. I'm glad God overruled me on not wanting to make new friends five years ago :) By some miracle, we got halfway decent pictures of all the kids! They are not very good at taking serious photos. Silly photos, they are your kids! I also got to do some newborn photos of Naomi. I am super proud of the photos where I used flash. It's not quite blending with natural light photos, but it's way better than I would have gotten before now. Actually, I would not have even attempted flash until now, so who knows what they would have looked like. It's so freeing to have the ability to use flash!!! If these photos teach you anything, it's that even imperfect photos are precious. Some of these are blurry or grainy or some of the kids aren't really looking. It doesn't matter. Don't let lack of perfection keep you from taking or keeping photos.
