It's almost 4 p.m. and I'm just getting this post written. I guess this is why I need to batch-write posts so I can just publish them, but if I did that, this post wouldn't exist. Plus, I come up with ideas on the fly sometimes, which doesn't lend itself to batch-writing. Some things about today went as planned. Others, not so much. Today was pretty simple. I was going to do batting practice with my brother, make hard boiled eggs, look for something in our Christmas closet, write today's blog post, and print out some articles. Not a whole lot. It left time for other things that might pop up.
My family started watching a little baby in October. He was two months old. It gives my mom her baby fix and it's training for me and my brothers in how to care for babies (okay, more for my brothers than for me. I've had lots of experience with kids). I had the little guy all afternoon by myself today and he was FUSSY! He just wanted to be held. I got him to sleep for a time, he was able to eat at some point, but then I just had to hold him. I managed to get the articles printed and the eggs made. Additionally, I made gingerbread dough and got it in the fridge. No looking in the closet, no writing blog posts. Just holding a baby and watching some YouTube videos that were in my inbox. Things got done, don't get me wrong. When my mom got home, I made the cookies and now I am writing the blog post. But it certainly was a different afternoon than I was expecting. As I type this, he's in the other room laughing (laughing!) at my brothers. He's just cracking up!!! *sigh* It's good experience for the future since I want to be a stay-at-home, homeschool mom one day. I'm sure there will be plenty of days like this in my future. This is not the post I was expecting to write today. But I felt like I wanted to explain why today's post was coming out at 4 p.m. How has your day been?
