A Prayer For Work

How and what should we pray for our work?

As a Christian who owns a business, I get caught up in the idea sometimes that there is "God work" and then there is "my work" but really, all work should be for God because all work is from God. Jordan Raynor's books have been instrumental with helping me understand work in a healthy way and prompted me to write a prayer for work that anyone can pray because it doesn't apply to photographers or entrepreneurs or females. It's for anyone who works and that is all of us.

Lord, You created work and You created us to work. Through work, we get to partner with You to create and restore You work through us i Your mission to restore all things. We know that this work will never be complete until Jesus returns but we thank You that our work does matter.

Lord, You call us to good works. you tell us to do our work for You and Your glory, not for men. Equip us, Lord, to work diligently where You pace us. I ask You to give us fulfilling and meaningful work but when we don't have that, please give us eyes to see beyond the job and work well anyway. We commit our plans to You. Bless the work of our hands, Father. May it bring You honor and glory.

Thank you for work and the ability to do this work. Thank You for how you provide through our work and how You are working to restore all things, even now. You can do more than we could ask or imagine so we ask for a hundred-fold harvest. Take our humble work and expand its impact for the kingdom. May Your will always be done in and through us.
