For as long as I can remember, Easter has been my favorite holiday. Which I now see is kind of ironic, since spring is my least-favorite season. But Easter is definitely the best part of spring!
Things were different as a child than they are now, but through all the years and traditions and things, I’ve always loved this holiday. Probably my favorite thing is the church service. Easter Sunday is my favorite Sunday of the whole year! We have all the instruments and the choir and you can FEEL the joy in the sanctuary. Palm Sunday is my second-favorite Sunday because it is so similar to Easter. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite traditions around Easter. Some are from my childhood and we don’t do them anymore, but I have very fond memories of them!

We heard it all the time.
People would find out that we homeschooled (or now, that we were homeschooled) and the response was something along the lines of, "i could never do that!" Which usually meant, "I don't have the patience for that." To which my mom would always say, "I don't either." I personally don't think the hang-up was actually patience but I'm not going to get into that today. This is not for the person who doesn't want to homeschool. Rather, it's for the person who doesn't think they can. I hope it encourages that person because I truly believe that... Anyone Can Homeschool! I am reluctantly saying goodbye to winter but I have some outdoor projects that I'm kind of excited to do and I need it to be *slightly* warmer for them so I guess it's okay. I'm never mad when we get a few snow flurries still!
I love when you find something adorable that is meant to be an heirloom AND supports a good cause. Cuddle & Kind does just that with their dolls! And when I say adorable, I mean adorable! I want to own pretty much every doll they make and they come out with limited edition ones for different holidays and seasons too! UGH! My heart can't handle the cuteness!
Before I left Instagram, I saw a Carousel about female Olympic athletes. The gist of it was that these women had found a way to “have it all”. And it got me thinking… are they right? Can we really have it all?
The short answer is “no”. A friend asked me an interesting question recently. She asked, "what about how you were raised would you change?" Now, I loved how I was raised so the things I could come up with were more like adding to, rather than actually changing anything. But something I wouldn't change is how we did birthdays!
Just like that, another Roundup is here! Because I am doing these on Tuesdays now as my last blog post of the month, they are a bit early, so I will also recap the end of the previous month too. I have a LOT to share because February was so good!
I've made some big decisions, for both me and my business but they are not completely out of nowhere. One has been in the back of my mind for a few years now but I didn't think I could do it. Now I don't know that I can't NOT do it.
I'm leaving Instagram and changing how I share my work in a big way. I've been transitioning to barefoot shoes for about four years now, slowly shifting my shoes to more feet-friendly options. Until I was making this post, I didn't even realize how many I had! The biggest challenge with getting barefoot shoes is that most of them are made in Europe, which means you really can't return them. Not easily anyway. So I thought I'd share what I like and what I don't like about the shoes I have and maybe help someone else with their decision. My go-to for all things barefoot shoes is Anya's Reviews but I still want to share my real-world experiences.
*none of the shoes in the photos above are barefoot :) Everyone needs the photos where you're all posed and smiling at the camera but let's be honest, that doesn't really represent your family. Sure, it is you, but unless you spend you days doing that, it doesn't capture your essence as a family. Candids are where it's at and natural interaction gets you the photos you'll cherish for a lifetime but how do you get those kinds of photos?
